MOPs this week!

Hey there mamas! Although you can't count on the crazy East Tennessee weather, you can count on MOPs. We are meeting this Thursday (April 14) from 9:30 to 11:30 at Erin Presbyterian Church. A child psychologist will be speaking to us about different personalities and ways to better parent our kids and their different personalities. If you are using our childcare, please come a little early to get your child settled so we can begin on time! Feel free to bring friends and snacks; both are always welcome :)

MNO!

Before Spring Break and the Easter holiday, mama needs a break! What better way to accomplish a little down time and a lot of laughter than to join up with the Erin Pres MOPs group. We will be meeting at Cru in Turkey Creek tomorrow (Friday, March 11) at 7:00 pm. If you have questions or need more information, please contact Dawn at knoxmops at gmail.com. Hope to see you there!

Good Morning! Just a reminder that we have a MOPS meeting this Thursday, February 25 from 9:30-11:30. Spring is right around the corner and I always get a little too spend happy buying plants, flowers, spring decorations, Easter candy, etc.  This week's speaker, Heather Cockrum, is going to help make our wallets a little happier by showing us some ways to cut those costs and becoming smarter shoppers.

From Heather:

"Interested in learning how to save money without ever clipping a coupon?  Want to save on almost every online purchase through one extra click of the mouse?  Tired of paying too much money for too few groceries, which, in all honesty, may not even last you the week without another quick trip or two to fill in the gaps?  If so, come and learn how to be a smart shopper! You may be ready to jump in full force, or you may have no spare time (but no spare money either) and, if truth be told, want to save using the least amount of time and energy as possible. Either way, I can help you!  This class will provide a general overview of smart shopping techniques, touching on topics such as basic couponing, price matching, saving on online purchases, and pinpointing key sites that will tell you exactly where the best deals are."

Here is just some of what Heather has gotten for free!

Please try to arrive and be settled by 9:30, so that we can start promptly. Hope to see you there!

MOPS meeting this week!

We have a MOPS meeting this week (Thursday, February 11) from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. If you are using childcare, please come a few minutes early to get your child settled either in the nursery or the big kid room. This week we will be doing a devotion and craft. And of course, fellowshipping and snacking!

Just a couple of reminders:
-Dues are due for this semester-$30 or $35 (depending on if you use childcare or not). These funds go into our coffers (not MOPS International) and help pay for our childcare workers, craft supplies, etc.
-Inclement weather policy-IF Knox County Schools are closed, we will NOT be having MOPS. We will try to reschedule and we love you all, but it is not worth possible harm to get together ;)
-A coordinator is still needed for our Egg Hunt on Good Friday. Please (please!) contact Dawn at knoxmops@gmail dot com (or talk to me at the meeting) if you are able/willing to help out.

New friends and snacks are always welcome at our meetings, so please feel free to bring both! Hopefully, we will see you Thursday.

Thanks and resource for help...

"I've learned...sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand."
(from the handout today and originally from Andy Rooney)

It was great to see those of you who were at MOPS today, and THANK YOU again to Doris for sharing truth, encouragement, love....and a couple challenges.

If you ever want advice from someone who has gone before you, feel free to email Doris privately.  It's like free counseling from the comfort of your own computer! :)  Here is her email address: darsiejeane@yahoo.com  She would love to be a resource for you.

Mark your calendar for our next meeting- Thursday, January 28th at 9:30am.  We'll be doing a craft, discussion questions....and it will be our annual CocoaMotion Buffett!  You will not want to miss it. You will not be disappointed. (And if you are just a die hard coffee addict and discriminate against chocolate, we can probably arrange a cup of joe too.)

If possible, bring your spring dues ($30 if you do not use childcare and $35 if you do use childcare).

Also, RSVP for the evite to Wine and Unwind.  (Thanks for SH for offering to host this pre-Vday night out!)

And just to leave you with a couple other nuggets of wisdom from today: Be the bigger person, practice restraint, and smile. :)

Speaking of nuggets...anyone want to pick up CFA and have a playdate next week after MLK? Meet at Erin maybe?
